Dr. Safiullah earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from North Park University in Chicago before graduating from The Chicago Medical School. But it was not until he started a research fellowship at the University of California-Irvine (UC Irvine) that his interests in endourology and laparoscopy began to flourish. "I worked as a fellow of the prestigious Leadership and Innovation Fellowship Training (LIFT) at UC Irvine under the tutelage of Dr. Ralph Clayman and Dr. Jaime Landman, " said Dr. Safiullah. "I was able to develop a virtual reality research program for preoperative planning in treating urologic disorders including kidney stones, tumors, etc.
